GeorgiaBEST@School utilizes a new grading rubric/participant evaluation that more closely resembles how employees are evaluated in the workplace. Instead of the three-point scale called a grading rubric (an academic term) that was used in the original GeorgiaBEST program, the new form is a Frequency Observation Tool that can be used by teachers, employers, correctional facilities, non-profits, etc. Since evaluating soft skills requires so much subjectivity, it was advantageous to adopt a behavior-based scale where participants are evaluated on the frequency of the behaviors being observed.
